Mill House Medical Centre Desk Plants

A standard appointment is 15 minutes in duration, but longer consultations are available.

Please advise the receptionist if you think you will require more time.

Work Cover Appointments

When booking a Work Cover appointment please make Reception aware so we can ensure enough time is scheduled for your appointment.


We also require your claim details. These include your case manager and employer details; the claims administrator the claim is with and claim number.


Workcover consults- Fees are required to be paid by patients on the day of your visit.


Current fees as of Jan 2025

  • Standard Work Cover (15mins) $102 No Medicare Rebate
  • Long Work Cover (30mins) $188 No Medicare Rebate


Work Conferences-are when your case manager attends your consult. These consults are paid directly to your employer or claims administrator.


As of 1st 2022 Millhouse Medical Centre has required patient who have Work Cover consults to pay privately and to claim back from their employer or case manager.

Careplan Appointments

What is a Careplan?

Careplans are used by GPs for patients with ongoing chronic conditions such as chronic diseases, complex needs and terminal illnesses.


During your careplan appointment you will first see the nurse for general observations and assessments for allied health referrals.

Afterwards you see your doctor and discuss your needs further and get referrals signed off as well as any prescriptions related to your chronic condition/s.


  • Careplan appointments are Bulk Billed under Medicare
  • Duration 1 hour (Please allow for this during your appointment)


Who is eligible?

Those who have at least one or more chronic conditions e.g. arthritis, anxiety, asthma, diabetes, cancer, mental illness, heart disease, kidney disease etc.


GPMP= Genral Practioner Management Plan

TCA= Team Care Arrangement


TCA referrals can be sent to related allied health professionals by your GP for management of chronic conditions (e.g. physio, chiro, therapists, podiatrists, dietician etc.)

You will be allocated 5 subsidized visits to your choice of related conditions referral example: 2 physio visits & 3 Chiropractic visits.


Regular review of your careplan allows for you and your medical team to access whether your goals of treatment are being met. generally, a review happens every 3-6 months.



After Hours

We do not currently offer after hours services.


 For afterhours help, please call the practice number on 08 8554 3250, and you will be given instructions on what to do next.

Home Visits

If you are a patient of this practice and are too ill to attend the surgery, home visits may be available. 


Emergency patients will be able to attend South Coast District Hospital at Victor Harbor.

Telehealth

Mill House Medical Centre Staff 2

If you are unable to make it to the practice, appointments may be available via Telehealth consultation.


To be eligible for a telehealth consultation, you must have attended the clinic within the last 12 months. Fees may apply.


We require payment details at the time of booking however nothing will be charged until the completion of your consultation.

Test Results

If you have required investigations by your doctor, please make a follow up appointment for the results before you leave the practice.

Our Reception team are unable to discuss results with you.

Recalls & Reminders

Mill House Medical Centre Recalls

A recall system is used to enhance your medical care. 


If you do not wish to utilise this service, please let us know. 


Reminders can consist of pap smear, depo, vaccinations; reception staff will contact you for appropriate appointments.

Any feedback can be forwarded in writing to the:

Admin Coordinator for administration issues or reception Staff.

Clinical Coordinator about clinical treatment or staff.

Feedback will be discussed with the relevant staff member & Practice Principles & investigated appropriately.

After our review, should you still feel dissatisfied; the 
Health Services Complaints Commission can be contacted on 8226 8666.
